International Picnic Day is a way to enjoy nature in the city and remember what our public park spaces have to offer! So grab a friend, a blanket, some chow and head to your nearest park on Friday, June 18thCheers to alfresco dining!

Join us!

The Friends of Mockingbird Trail will be picnicking along Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale at Smoker Family Park starting at 12pm. The whole family and well-behaved pets are welcome to join! RSVP is suggested.

Location: Smoker Family Park

Downtowners are encouraged to bike or walk, parking is available south of the park along SE 6th Street and east on N. Rio Vista Blvd. A valet option is also available at The Vu New River next to the park.

All proceeds and tips will go directly to funding the growth of Mockingbird Trail.

How would you define art if the visual perception of it is removed? Explore the world of multi-sensory and socially impactful art as Mockingbird Trail serves up MAIN COURSE. Explore the scents, sounds and feel of the Mockingbird’s habitat.

EXPERIENCE

Meet, paint, learn and experience the Unconventional world of interactive mural painting alongside your neighbors at the Lighthouse of Broward. A visual experience of the mural, designed by Unconventional artist, Ernesto Maranje will be painted by YOU, the community. Sign up for this experience beginning November 25th, limited spaces available.

INVEST

Unable to attend Paint Day? Consider donating online to help fundraise for the matching grant portion of the project. All funds raised go directly to material and fabrication costs for the multi-sensory mural components.

Main Course is a recipient of the Broward College MLK Day of Service Award. The mission of the MLK Day of Service in Florida is to engage the neighboring community in transforming the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday into a day of citizen action volunteer service in honor of Dr. King, to be Day On, not a Day Off.
